Sir Ken Robinson: Do Schools Today Kill Creativity?

November 13, 2006 · 4 Comments

Growing up, my parents always measured my performance in school by how I did in math and English. Although they encouraged me to learn music, it was only as a hobby and always next to math and English. As an engineer now, I very much appreciate what they did. However, after watching this very interesting and entertaining talk by Sir Ken Robinson, I wonder, what little Rami would have achieved if his creative mind had been stimulated further.

Steve Jobs Catch Phrases

November 4, 2006 · 1 Comment

I used to like Steve Jobs’s presentation style (not so much Apple and its products though). And now I know why! Jobs’s uses that same catch phrases over and over again, and they are catchy until you realize that he repeats them all the time. Ah stevey, you no longer amaze me :(

Here are Job’s catch phrases:

Unbelievable
Huge
Pretty cool, huh?
wouldn’t be…
Boom!
Mere mortals

The walls between art and engineering exist only in our minds and few have the imagination to see beyond them.

The One Word/Symbol Slides

September 17, 2006 · No Comments

Dick Hardt; Founder & CEO of Sxip Identity; has a very unique presentation style. Dick uses only one word or symbol in every slide of his presentations. It is a pretty cool idea. This style makes the presentation very entertaining. I know I couldn’t take my eyes off his presentations. I bet this style requires a lot of preparation.

Dick has two presentations on his website:

OSCON 2005 Keynote - Identity 2.0 http://identity20.com/media/OSCON2005/

ETech 2006 — Who Is the Dick on My Site? http://identity20.com/media/ETECH_2006/

The next time you have to present try out this style and let me know what you think, I know I will give it a try the first chance I have.
